What is Sigma Chi?

The Sigma Chi Fraternity was founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1855. Just ten years later Rho chapter at Butler University was founded in 1865. We are the longest standing fraternity at Butler University with 155 years of uninterrupted brotherhood. Our Fraternity was founded on the basis of three main values:

Our brothers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, enriching our friendship and our understanding of brotherhood

We are committed to the values of fairness, decency, and goodwill. We are entrusted to hold each other accountable to mold our character for the future.

We believe that learning is a continuous process. Our fraternity guides our brothers to become students of fair ability, enriching our knowledge for experiences in the future.
